Article 75: How Does Cross-Docking and Warehouse Integration Work?

Cross-Docking:

  • Direct movement: Goods go from inbound to outbound truck without storage.
  • Trigger: ASN (advance shipping notice) or planned cross-dock from MM delivery data.
  • Streamlined process: Less handling, faster throughput, minimized storage space.

Warehouse Integration:

  • Inbound/outbound integration driven by master data: dock location, scheduling, loading/unloading capability.
  • WMS passes real-time updates (scans, weighings) back to TM and MM for status/tracking.
  • Advanced scenario: Automated dock/slot assignment based on delivery schedule and FO status.
